Captain-Only Yacht Charters in the BVI

A captain-only yacht charter gives your group a private yacht and a professional captain while keeping meals, provisioning and day-to-day onboard arrangements more flexible than a fully crewed, all-inclusive charter. My Caribbean Charters helps guests compare captain-only options in the British Virgin Islands and understand the costs and responsibilities before booking.

What Is a Captain-Only Yacht Charter?

Your captain is responsible for operating the yacht and navigating the itinerary safely. Unlike an all-inclusive crewed charter, a captain-only charter generally does not include a dedicated chef. Guests arrange their own meals and provisioning, dine ashore, or use a combination of both. Exact inclusions and expenses vary by yacht and charter agreement.

What to Budget Beyond the Charter Rate

Depending on the yacht, additional costs can include provisions for your group and captain, transfers, dockage or marina fees, fuel or other operating expenses, and crew gratuity. We confirm the yacht-specific inclusions and exclusions before you reserve.

Who Is Captain-Only Best For?

This charter style can work well for independent families and groups who want a professional captain but prefer to manage meals themselves and enjoy BVI restaurants along the route. If you want a captain and chef with meals and beverages organized for you, explore our all-inclusive crewed yacht charters. If your group has the sailing qualifications to operate the yacht independently, compare our BVI bareboat charters.

Our captain-only options include selected yachts such as Aquatic Odyssey and Sea Monkeys, subject to availability and yacht-specific charter terms. Browse our managed BVI yacht fleet or learn more about cruising the islands in our British Virgin Islands yacht charter guide.
