The cost of a private yacht charter in the British Virgin Islands depends on the yacht, guest count, level of service, season and what is included. As a practical starting point, MCC currently represents selected captain-only catamarans from approximately $15,000 for seven nights and larger fully crewed catamarans from approximately $28,000 to $35,000+.
These are planning ranges, not a quote. Holiday weeks and yacht-specific expenses can change the final charter cost.
Captain-only charters are well suited to guests who want privacy and flexibility and are comfortable arranging their own meals and provisions. Current MCC examples include Aquatic Odyssey and Sea Monkeys, with seven-night rates starting from $15,000 plus applicable expenses.
A crewed charter provides a more complete hospitality experience, normally with a professional captain and chef or crew team and many onboard inclusions. Current MCC-managed examples include Saint Sophie from $28,000 for seven nights, Athena from $32,000 and Ad Astra 5.4 from $32,000, subject to guest count, season and availability.
Yacht size and type. Larger catamarans, newer yachts and yachts with more guest cabins generally command higher charter rates.
Number of guests. Some crewed yachts use tiered pricing, so the rate may increase as the number of guests increases.
Season and holiday weeks. Christmas and New Year are premium charter periods and may carry higher rates or minimum-stay requirements.
Charter format. Captain-only, crewed all-inclusive and bareboat charters have different inclusions, so the base rates should not be compared in isolation.
Additional expenses. Depending on the yacht and contract, provisions, chef services, cruising fees, dockage, transfers, fuel, taxes and crew gratuity may be additional.
There is no single inclusion list for every yacht. A crewed all-inclusive charter may include accommodation aboard, professional crew, meals, standard ship’s bar, yacht operating expenses and use of onboard water toys. A captain-only charter typically leaves provisions and many guest expenses outside the base charter fee. Always review the specific yacht proposal and charter agreement before comparing prices.
For MCC’s current managed fleet, a useful starting planning range is approximately $15,000 for seven nights for selected captain-only yachts and approximately $28,000 to $35,000+ for selected crewed catamarans. Premium yachts and holiday periods can be higher.
The lowest advertised rate is not always the lowest final vacation cost. We compare the yacht, cabin configuration, crew, inclusions, itinerary, guest count and additional expenses so you can understand the realistic charter budget before committing.
